ROBYN’S GLEN SECURITY INFORMATION

  • CALL 911 immediately when you see something suspicious OR IF YOU ARE A VICTIM

  • There is a Charlotte City Curfew for kids under 16 yrs. old.

Sunday-Thursday Persons under 16 MUST be in by 11 PM and by Midnight on the weekends

  • Please notify the Robyn’s Glen HOA of any instances for the Newsletter

  • Get to know your neighbors, let them know if you’re a victim.

  • Keep your gas lights lit and/or turn on your outside lights. Worried about cost? The gas lamp in front of your home adds less than $10.00 per month to your bill. You have to have the pilot lit for your water heater anyway, right?

  • What’s more valuable, the safety and security of your family and home or saving a few dollars?

  • Maintain your property – keep your foliage trimmed back to eliminate places for people to hide

  • Don’t park in the road - Not only do you give a thief somewhere to hide by doing this, but you put your car at risk of being hit,and on Mondays, it makes the Refuse Collection Engineers not want to take away your garbage, and they WILL YELL at you,and if you make them mad, they will refuse to remove your garbage. I have already had this fight with the City Of Charlotte. No one else should.

  • Do you know where your children are? Think it’s not them? Are you sure? Someone’s children are the ones doing this damage! Don't let kids being kids cause hard feelings between neighbors. We all have to live together.Let's make it as pleasant as possible.

  • Parents can be ticketed by the police for damage their children cause or for neglecting their children (not knowing what they’re up to)

Be Aware Be ResponsibleBe Accountable

While there are some neighbors that ‘patrol’ our neighborhood during  the evenings, there needs to be a majority neighborhood involvement.

If you’re a do-it-yourselfer, replacement mantels can be purchased at Bass Pro Outdoor World @ Concord Mills Mall (In the camping section) for less than $2 a pack. The process to replace these mantles is fairly simple and only takes a few minutes. Older mantels, ones that have holes or are falling apart are inefficient and cost more to operate. FireHouse Casual Living Store also carries these mantels. Consult the internet, a manual or technician for installation assistance

MOTION DETECTORS

Flood lights and ornamental lights can very easily be converted to motion sensitive lights for less than $75, a couple hours worth of work and with basic tools and skills.

I did mine for $17.00 per light set and about an hour of my time

Check out your local Wal-Mart,Home Depot or Lowe’s for advice and product.
